VBS

Our church held Vacation Bible School June 3-7. While Chad and I were teaching, Payton stayed in the nursery. She wasn't quite ready for the preschool room yet. But she did get to participate in the Opening and Closing each night, which she absolutely loved! It was so fun to watch her sing and dance along to the music. We are very blessed to belong to such a wonderful church family. I would definitely say that VBS 2012 was a success!

And here is a little video of her singing and dancing to one of the songs.  So fun!

Fishing

On June 2, we took Payton to Mariposa park for a fishing derby. My friend Sara had told us about it, so we thought we'd give it a shot. It was kind of a bust because it was so muddy. At one point, Payton had gotten stuck in the mud and then fell down into it. Needless to say, she was a mess. I think she will have more fun with it next year.

Then later that evening, we went out to the pond for some more fishing and a fire.

Memorial Day

Here are some pictures from Memorial Day. We had supper at my parents' and then went out to the pond. Payton had a blast out there. Every time Chad would catch a fish, he would let her touch it and she loved it. Then he would throw it back it the water and she would get so excited. We didn't let her try her hand at fishing on this day, but she got a turn about a week later.

A Story Worth Reading

I wanted to post this on Memorial Day, but didn't get around to it.  This is a link to a story in the DM Register about one of my relatives.  His grandmother is my dad's first cousin.  It is quite the story.

State Track Meet 2012

In true fashion, this post is a couple weeks late. :)

We had the State qualifiers over the night before the State meet for a spaghetti supper.  This is our 2nd year doing it, so I think it's going to become a tradition.  Payton had a blast hanging out with the girls.  They had 11 entries into the meet this year, which is pretty darn good.  We went down on the Saturday of the meet with my parents.  We had a fun time cheering on the girls.

This was right after the gun went off - frightened her a bit.  :)
