Visiting Harper

Yesterday we went to visit Aaron, Jess, Kaylee, and Baby Harper. We hadn't seen them since our visit to them in the hospital, so we were long overdue for some snuggles. :) She is such a love. Payton thinks so too. She was such a good helper, and loved helping me give Harper her bottle. I asked Aaron and Jess if I could take her home. They said they wanted to keep her. :)

Love her shirt!!  :)

Silly Dog

Last Sunday we came home from church to find Relay like this...

Chad had his snowpants lying on the guest bed, and apparently Relay had climbed up on the bed and somehow got tangled up in the snowpants.  We left for church around 8:45 and then did our usual Walmart run afterwards, so we didn't get home until around 12:30 PM.  Not sure how long he had been tangled, but he didn't seem to mind too much.  What a silly dog.  :)

Daddy/Daughter Date

A couple weekends ago, I had my high school girlfriends over for a ladies' night. So, Payton and Daddy had a date night.  They went out for supper and then to the MCC women's basketball game.  Here they are posing at the game.  My loves! <3 p="">

PIzza Party

Over Christmas break, we ordered pizza from Papa Murphy's one night.  I had heard about these pizzas that the kids can make, so we decided to let Payton try.  She enjoyed putting on the toppings, and as you can see from the last picture, was thorougly impressed with the final product :)

Sledding fun

Last Saturday we got all bundled up and headed out to the farm for some sledding fun. The first hill we tried was pretty lame, but then my dad came out and pointed us in the right direction to a better hill. Last fall, he mowed a path down this hill to make for better sledding conditions. It was a fun afternoon!

Payton insisted that she was going to go sledding with just her pajama shirt, underwear, boots, and purse.  :)

Seems that her attire is not the appropriate size.  I mistakingly bought those gloves in a 6X--not sure why I didn't look at the tag or notice that they were way too big! And the snowpants are a size too small.  I bought them last winter and we didn't go sledding once, so I decided to keep them for another winter.

This is the better hill.  We went down this several times, but it was not fun coming back up!  Definitely got a workout in!

Harper is Here!

I am so excited about the arrival of my beautiful new niece, Harper Grace. Jess was induced early Wednesday morning, and Harper arrived at 7:33 that evening. She is absolutely perfect. 7 pounds, 2 ounces, 21.5 inches, and lots of blonde hair.

We went to visit on Thursday at the hospital.  I couldn't wait to snuggle this little girl!

Payton thought Harper was pretty sweet, although she wasn't too fond of Nana holding her.  When my mom was holding her, Payton tried to get up and sit in her lap too.

Before we left, Payton decided to give Harper some loving in the form of several good-bye kisses.

I am so happy for my brother and Jess.  She was very sick at the beginning of her pregnancy with Hyperemesis gravidarum (the same thing Kate Middleton was hospitalized for) and it was pretty scary for awhile.  Luckily, that only lasted for the 1st trimester, and she was much better for the rest of her pregnancy.  We are so excited to welcome Harper Grace to the family.  She is very loved!

Happy New Year!

For the first time in several years, we stayed in for NYE and I was totally ok with that. I have to say, I will not miss the year 2012. With two miscarriages, one in June and the other in November, I would just like to put this year behind us. We met with a fertility specialist last week and feel really good about the direction we are heading. The doctor seemed confident that we would find some answers and get on the right track. Chad and I welcomed the New Year with a toast and a hopeful outlook that 2013 will be a better year!

Good-bye 2012!

Hello 2013!
